A review of F&D Fenda Neo-Alloy Bluetooth Speaker SWAN W18BT

F&D Fenda Neo-Alloy Bluetooth Speaker SWAN W18BT

January 9, 2014. The Fenda Bluetooth speaker on test today is a high tech product designed to receive and broadcast music, voice or soundtracks.

The tech specs of the device are listed below for those who want to know how and why this stunning device works so well. It is easy for consumers to not recognize the technological advancements that come to the market everyday. In a time when innovation is expected rather than looked on with awe, we do not give due recognition to designers, technicians and manufacturers.

The sound from the Fenda Bluetooth is, to me, perfect. Any distortion ( I did not detect any at high volumes ) would be due to the source of the signal. Youtube for instance is a compromise between quality and bandwidth of the transmission. Bluetooth recordings of music are close to being a perfect reproduction of the original and on the Fenda Bluetooth speaker, the listening experience is awesome.

It works at a level of digital perfection to the human ear. ( mine ). You would need electronic measuring devices to detect any deterioration in the transmission and broadcast process.

The components of the device are cleverly housed in a heavy metal case that enables the sound resolution quality and generates the tactile experience that confirms that this is a high quality product.

So often in the electronics industry, design is a last minute compromise once the technical aspects are in place. Plastic is often selected because it is cheap and easily molded to shape. The heavy metal used in the Swan W18BT is a vital part of the product appeal. There are two colours in the range. ( If black and white are colours )

I used the SWAN W18BT to listen to music by Giacomo Puccini, who was an Italian composer whose operas are among the important operas played as standards.

I followed this link on YouTube to listen to a young woman who will be ( if she is not already ) one America's National Treasure's Jackie Evancho, singing Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzSfx2IKafs

Turandot, Puccini's final opera, was left unfinished, and the last two scenes were completed by Franco Alfano based on the composer's sketches. The libretto for Turandot was based on a play of the same name by Carlo Gozzi.[36] The music of the opera is heavily inflected with pentatonic motifs, intended to produce an Asiatic flavor to the music. Unlike La fanciulla, Turandot contains a number of memorable stand-alone arias, among them Nessun dorma. Wikipedia..

Verdict: The Fenda Bluetooth speaker played Puccini and Jackie Evancho to a standard that is to me, a perfect reproduction of the original. Is that not the ultimate aim of a speaker ?

Later, I watch a Bluetooth movie. The result was the same. The speaker worked in the background delivering perfect sound and so it did not come to attention as a weak link.

Worth the money ? Buy one.

The set up was easy, so easy that I felt rather clever given that it is high technology. The instructions were able to be understood at first read.  Operating the device is simple due to the instructions and the computer generated voice that confirms operations like a GPS for cars including when the touch controls on the top are used.
